Minutes for the 2004 IBHF Meeting

The IBHF
meeting was held at the Vermont Beagle
Club on July 3rd 2004. Mel
Faust opened the meeting at 10:06 am. Roll Call was taken with the following
delegates and guests in attendance.

of the last meeting were reviewed and accepted.
Treasurers
report was given and a balance on hand was reported as $ 1394.93. Report

Reports
from the various other committees were accepted as well.
Sharon
Ward Cate provided all in attendance with some interesting statistics about
last years 2003 entries.

We
had 132 entries last year with 42 champions. That was down 27 from the previous
year.

Out
of 20 placing hounds at last years trial 9 had Licensed 1st places
(other places as well) in either LP or SPO.

Out
of all of the entries: 26 had no First p[laces but had other places in LP or
SPO
·

with NBQs in the futurity had no other places
·
3
with 6th places in the IBHF had no other places

Futurity dates for 2005
July 2nd, 3rd, and 4th
Host clubs who have expressed an interest in holding the
futurity for 2005 are as follows:
Paskamansett, Ma
Hardwick, VT
Salmon Falls, Me
Sandy Creek, NY (Decided they were not ready)
A motion
was made and seconded to rotate the futurity every 2 years. After much
discussion the motion was voted on. This motion Failed
The
decision will be made for the host club on or about Sept 20, 2004.
At this
meeting it was made clear to all those present who would be voting for next
site. Officers which include:

Delegates (there is a possibility of 1 more starting in Canada)
On the
futurity website the voting will listed. http://www.internationalbeagleharefuturity.net
Motion
was made to change the running order of the futurity to 13 on Saturday and 15
on Sunday. (This year 2 measured out
and got their money back.) After some
discussion this motion passed.
New Business
The Joy International Award
There was
a lot of discussion over the calculation of points for the Joy cup. Should we
count more than 2 trials from Canada? What is recognized Advertising i.e.:
magazines vs. web site? Should NBQ be awarded points?
These
were the changes made and it will read as follows:
Points
will be tabulated by using the complete list of entries and the results of the
International Futurity and the AKC/CKC Licensed Large Pack Trial reports, as
listed or advertised in a recognized beagle magazine. Motion and passed to
include Terry
McBrides
website. Terry will be responsible for tabulations in re: to his website. Web
Site Address is beaglescanada.com. Voting on this motion was 6 in favor of this
motion. There was no vote.
NBQ will
get points awarded towards the Joy cup.

Judy
Kosher Award
Motion passed
to again re-define the Judy Kosher award. This is once again an award just for
women. If you have a nomination please see Mel Faust or Dan Kane. A permanent
plaque will be supplied by Joy.
