New Business
Insurance
The insurance for the Futurity now costs $600 for the 3 day event. This
is a separate policy that the futurity has been paying each year. After much discussion a motion was made and passed
that the host club will now provide the insurance for the event. Even though the futurity has their own board of directors
they will work under the clubs board of directors. Other clubs have tried this and it has cut down on cost for other events.
Futurity will work with the host club on this. Insurance must be secured prior to the September 15 voting date.
Advertising for the futurity
Future advertising for the futurity will include Motel listing and telephone
numbers for the Trialers to make their own reservations directly.
2003 Futurity Dates
Next years dates will be: July 2nd, 3rd
and 4th 2004
Trial of Champions
Some discussion on the trial of Champions: Should we have 4 classes?
Half Day Trials? Could it be another weekend? Pressure on the area?
These are all questions to think about in re: to the trial of champions.
Motion was made and passed to stay the same.
Compensation
There was a discussion in re: to two positions on the board receiving
compensation for their work. The two positions are Executive Secretary and Award Chairman. There is a lot of time and effort
that goes into these positions and a nominal fee of $50.00 was suggested.
Motion made and carried to leave things the way they are
now.
Book for Judges
Bob Sweet is putting together a book that will include names and numbers
of those interested in judging the futurity in the future. If you are interested please contact Bob Sweet.
Painting
In the absence of Ralph DeWitt the host club will be responsible for painters.
Judy and Russ Kohser International Award
Nominations are needed each year for this award. This award is open to
all beaglers (male or female) in both the US and Canada. Please see Mel Faust or Dan Kane for the criteria on this.
Respectfully submitted,
